Blake's and Mouton's collaboration represented more than 40 years of rigorous research to
establish the validity of Managerial Grid theory and their unique learning methodologies. Their findings
were established in the 1960s with their publication, "A Breakthrough in Organization
Development" in the Harvard Business Review, and with the first edition of The Managerial
Grid text which is now in its 5th edition. The subsequent decades include multiple
applications of the theory and methods, including over forty books and hundreds of seminars that
demonstrated and amplified the original findings. During this time, they also established a
worldwide network of independent Grid partners to disseminate their work. In 1991, Harvard
Business Review released a compilation entitled, Business Classics: 15 Key Concepts for
Managerial Success in which the original Blake and Mouton article was included.
Grid International's Product Development Team is led today by Clark Robinson.
The books and products developed (since my retirement) continue the integrity of previous
efforts. I feel confident in the new products and highly recommend them.

Blake's and Mouton's methodology underpins all Grid designs and active research continues
today. We also constantly expand and clarify the theory and applications to support today's
global business world.
What sets us apart today is the collaboration we have established with our network of worldwide
partners and clients. We have a partner network of experienced consultants who represent
the critical link to current business realities. These partners are not only dealing directly with
clients who are grappling with constant change, but who have established themselves as
independent business professionals. Bruce Carlson, Grid International's CEO and President says:
Grid partners have all been extensively trained in the details and intellectual rigor of
Dr. Blake's and Dr. Mouton's research. However, we have found that equally as valuable for
leading the Power to Change is their practical experience of managing independent business.
Bruce Carlson
This practical business experience forms the most effective basis for collaborating with Grid International's
product development team to assure that designs are relevant and meaningful in a constantly
evolving business world. Many of our partners have been delivering Grid for more than two
decades and we are constantly expanding the network to increase worldwide growth and
development.
We work closely with partners to create and revise designs and with actual client companies to
extensively test each design's effectiveness before adding it to our Grid offerings. We
also constantly re-evaluate designs to assure ongoing relevance and offer customization, if
needed, to fit a particular company's needs.
Mr. Robinson believes his primary responsibility is to lead the company in delivering products
that satisfy true client needs, and at the same time conform to Blake's and Mouton's time-tested
and proven methodologies. Robinson says:
Our clients tell us that Grid remains the undisputed market leader in the areas of leadership,
team, and organization development. Our job is to take this gold--this proven methodology based
on fundamental human behavior--and keep it current in an ever-changing global environment.
